HEARTS
3 - 6 Players
remove Jokers & Wild cards

OBJECT:

of game is to take all hearts & black queens or take no hearts or black queens.
6 Players:  use all 6 suits. Count hearts as I point and black queens as 13 points each. Total 52 count.
5 Players: remove I black suit. Count hearts as I point and 2 black queens count 13 points each. Total 39 count.
4 Players:  remove 2 black suits. Count hearts as I point and black queen as 13 count. Total 26 count.
3 Players: use I black suit & 2 red suits (I must be hearts)
PASSING: 3 cards are passed from hand. The first deal, pass 3 cards LEFT. Second deal, pass 3 cards RIGHT.

Third deal pass 3 cards ACROSS to player opposite. Fourth deal, players must HOLD all cards dealt.

* * 3 or 5 players, pass only RIGHT, LEFT & then HOLD.

PLAY BEGINS: Deal 13 cards to each player. Arrange cards in hand by suits. Determine if you wish to try to take all tricks with hearts & black queens on them, or take no heart or black queen tricks. NOW PASS 3 CARDS TO PLAYER ON YOUR LEFT. Pick up your passed cards & place in hand. Each player will still have 13 cards in their hand.

Player to left of dealer starts by leading out any suit EXCEPT hearts or a black queen. Hearts (or black queen) cannot be led until a heart (or black queen) has been played on a previous trick OR is the only suit remaining in your hand. Players must follow led suit or may throw off any other card (including a heart or black queen) if not able to play in led suit. Player with highest card of led suit takes the trick & leads next. Play resumes until all cards have been played. Players add their score by totaling hearts & black queens received on tricks taken.

Deal is passed to the left and after determining strategy, the passing of cards is continued, LEFT, RIGHT, ACROSS and HOLD (no passing). After passing is complete, play resumes.

If one player takes all the hearts on tricks and all black queens, he counts ZERO for himself and all other players count 26, 39 or 52 (depending on players) or may subtract the count from his score.

Once a person has reached 100 points, the game is ended and the player with the LOWEST count WINS the game.
